Grand Piano Strings

Our Story

Founded by pianist HieYon Choi, who explored Beethoven in depth over two decades, the Collective is rooted in Beethoven's spirit and brings tradition and innovation together.

What began as a translation team for Uhde's study of Beethoven's 32 piano sonatas has grown into a community committed to fostering sustainable musical life, reviving the salon tradition, and bringing music closer to everyday life.

With chapters in South Korea and the United States, the Collective connects globally, strengthening fellows and guiding members through exchanges and mentoring programs.

Our Vision of "Musical Sustainability"

Beethoven believed music was a transformative force — one that heals, restores the spirit, and unites noble minds. We share that conviction.

For us, “musical sustainability” means nurturing classical music and those who dedicate their lives to it, while bringing music into everyday life so that musical culture may continue to grow, sustain itself, and flourish across generations.

Supporting musicians: Fellowship, mentorship, and professional opportunities that help artists build lasting careers

Cultivating audiences: House concerts, workshops, and community outreach programs that welcome listeners of every age, background, and means

Preserving tradition: Keeping the salon tradition and classical heritage alive while making them relevant to contemporary audiences
